Aditi Rao Hydari and Siddharth are among the most adored celebrity couples. After dating for uite some years, the couple tied the know last year in September. The two have been public figures as they are working in industry for quite some time. However they have contradicting opinions on fame. While Siddharth reveals facing PTSD due to fame and attention, Aditi loves to be loved.
Aditi Rao Hydari on dealing with fame
Speaking to Hollywood Reporter India, Siddharth shared how he differs from Aditi when it comes to being in the spotlight. Talking about fame, Aditi said, “We’re the opposite. He hates attention, but I love it. I love to be loved, and he’s just hiding somewhere. I love it; I have so much fun. But, having said that, I also love my work. I always ask myself, what is it that I love about this so much. And it’s very clear. It’s not the trappings. It is the work; I love the camera, I love being on set, and I love surrendering to a director. But I’m happy with the trappings also.”
Siddharth on suffering PTSD due to public attention
To this, Siddharth added, “We’ve taken our own journeys to get here. It took me seven to eight years after becoming a star to not have anxiety and PTSD when people would come and speak to me. Nobody in my family’s history has ever experienced this. And I didn’t enjoy it. I was told, ‘You can’t be ungrateful.’ But I’m not—it’s a mental health situation. It’s not about gratitude. If something makes your stomach churn, you shouldn’t dismiss it because you’re supposed to be grateful for the fame. I am grateful, but it took me a long time to get used to that attention.”
He continued, “I’m still an idealist; I don’t know any other way to be. When it comes to people getting into your personal space when you’re not there for work, I get very confused, like ‘Why are you doing this now? I didn’t consent to this’. It’s very problematic for me, and I’m working on it. At the same time, I do believe in doing the right thing, so I will fight and I will resist.”
On the work front, Siddharth last starred in Indian 2 while Aditi delivered a hit with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi.
